3
Introduction
  • In an effort to increase productivity and simplify the process of placing your liquor order, the West Virginia Alcohol Beverage Control Administration is developing a new ordering option.

4
Why would I order On-line?
  • Place liquor order at your convenience
  • 24-hour window to place and change order
  • No more busy signals
  • Reduction of miscommunication
  • Direct access to information

5
Current Ordering Process
  • Phone Orders
    • Have to wait for an available operator
    • Restrictive ordering hours
    • Higher potential for miscommunication
    • Antiquated technology
6
Current Ordering Process
  • Fax Orders
    • No interactive feedback
    • Poor fax quality
    • Inability of some stores to receive confirmation
    • But, still a step better than phone orders
7
The New Standard for Ordering
  • In the near future, on-line ordering will be the preferred option for placing liquor orders.
  • While phone and fax orders will still be accepted, on-line ordering will be the most supported option.
  • Let us help you get up to speed with the new standard, today!
8
What do you need to get On-line?
  • Personal computer with Windows XP/2000
    • Can be purchased at a cost of less than $600
  • Internet connection
    • Dial-up: connect via a telephone line
    • OR
    • Broadband: connect via high speed cable or DSL
9
What is a Dial-up Connection?

  • This time tested method of connecting to the Internet is an inexpensive reliable option.

  • It uses your phone line and a local phone number to connect your computer with your service provider.
10
What is a Dial-up Connection?

  • Although it is simple to set-up, it provides a very slow connection speed and ties up a phone line.

  • This service can be acquired through several providers, to include: Wal-mart, Earthlink, NetZero at a cost of around $10 a month.
11
What is a Broadband Connection?

  • This solid high-speed connection, is definitely the preferred option.

  • It uses a digital service (DSL/Cable) to connect your computer with your service provider.

12
What is a Broadband Connection?

  • Although it is more costly than dial-up, it provides a connection that is 40 times faster and does not tie up your current phone line.

  • This service can be acquired through your cable or telephone provider at a cost of around $30 to $40 a month.

13

Benefit of using On-line ordering
  • Besides the convenience factor and ease of use for placing your liquor order, there are other reasons for using On-line ordering....
22
Access to Information
  • From a Management standpoint, having access to historical data can be a huge benefit.

    • Previous orders,
    • Monthly / yearly totals,
    • Item totals,
    • Order statistics, etc.
23
Coming Soon
  • The On-line ordering system will be ready to start using soon. Once it is ready, we will send you the information you need to get logged in and start reaping the benefits.
24
Phase One
  • Phase one will enable Liquor Retail Stores to login and place weekly liquor orders and view reports of historical data for their store.
25
In the Future
  • Future phases will include:
  • Logins for Distilleries and Representatives to view historical data for their products.

  • Logins for Regional Managers to view data for their “group” of stores.
26
In the Future

  • Another feature that will be added in the future will include the ability to create a regular weekly order that can be edited for current needs and then submitted. This will save time by not having to re-enter those items that you order on a regular basis.
27
Additional Options
  • For those stores that have a computerized inventory system, we will be adding a feature that will allow you to “upload” your order and submit without having to enter any item codes.

  • The possibilities are endless and we are striving to design the best On-line ordering system ever!
