Instructions for importing ASCII text data into Microsoft Word

1. Choose [ASCII text] format on the license search screen
2. Save data as a text file
3. Open MS Word
4. Choose [File] [New]
5. Choose [Mailing Label Wizard]
6. Choose [Create labels for a mailing list]
7. For the Main Document: [Create] [Mailing Labels]
8. For the Data Source: [Get Data] [Open Data Source] locate the ASCII text file
9. Choose [Set up main document]
10. Choose your label options
11. Choose [Insert Merge Field]
12. Choose the desired fields for your mailing lables [OK]
13. Choose [Merge]

 

Instructions for importing ASCII text data into Microsoft Excel

1. Choose [ASCII text] format on the license search screen
2. Save data as a text file
3. Open MS Excel
4. Choose [File] [New]
5. Locate the ASCII text file [Open]
6. Choose [Delimited] [Next]
7. Choose Delimiters [Comma] [Space] and Text Qualifier ["] (Quote)
8. Choose [Finish]
9. Resize columns to view complete data

Each record contained in the downloaded text file is in a "comma separated-ASCII format" that should be usable regardless of machine.

Each record has the following format:

Column   1 License Number
Column   2 DBA Name
Column   3 Entity Name
Column   4 Mailing Street Address 1
Column   5 Mailing Street Address 2
Column   6 Mailing City
Column   7 Mailing State
Column   8 Mailing Zip
Column   9 Physical Street Address 1
Column 10 Physical Street Address 2
Column 11 Physical City
Column 12 Physical State
Column 13 Physical Zip
Column 14 Business Phone
Column 15 Partner 1 First Name
Column 16 Partner 1 Last Name
Column 17 Partner 2 First Name
Column 18 Partner 2 Last Name
Column 19 Partner 3 First Name
Column 20 Partner 3 Last Name
Column 21 Partner 4 First Name
Column 22 Partner 4 Last Name
Column 23 Partner 5 First Name
